Biometric documents are identity documents that contain an electronic medium on which information about the biometric data of the owner of the document is recorded in order to identify it. It is assumed that such documents are the most protected from fakes and exclude the possibility of their use by any person except the owner. The main idea of the introduction of more secure documents that ensure the identification of a person is to significantly increase the protection of society from manifestations of crime and international terrorism. Biometric passports are becoming more widespread in the world. According to information from the World Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), more than 90 countries out of 193 UN member states are currently issuing such documents, with more than twenty countries ready to introduce such documents in the coming years.
