Military attaches and foreign diplomats visited the International Training Center for the National Guard Units

Today, on November 8, the representatives of Kyiv Association of Military Attaches and international organizations visited the International Interdepartmental Multidisciplinary Training Center for National Guard units in the Stare village, Kyiv region.

About 50 military attaches and foreign diplomats got acquainted with the main functions and tasks of the National Guard of Ukraine, its achievements and role in the security and defense sector of the state.

“The National Guard of Ukraine is a powerful military structure with law enforcement functions, which carries out combat missions, ensures peace and tranquility of the citizens of our country. Currently, according to the nationwide public opinion poll - over 50% of citizens trust in the National Guard,”- the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Meri Akopyan said.

She also stressed on the importance of the NGU’s cooperation with foreign partners.

“I am confident that in the immediate future the National Guard will join the activities carried out by the Orbital training operation. We are open to dialogue and invite international partners to cooperate”, - she admitted.

The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Balan stressed that international support is extremely important for Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression and defending national interests.

"We appreciate that the prospects for the development of the National Guard are on the agenda of the initiatives of the ambassadors of the G7 countries in Ukraine, as well as the European Union and NATO. For us, this is not only a high assessment and international recognition, but also a responsibility for the implementation of world best practices and standards in our activities, " -Mykola Balan noted.

During the visit, a modern military equipment, the latest means of communication and samples of weapons, training classes and simulators were presented. Furthermore, the special and operational units demonstrated their skills in operations on airdrop from helicopter, evacuation of the wounded, operation of sniper shooter/spotter teams and tactical medicine at the International Center's military shooting range.

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Meri Akopyan presented departmental awards to servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Recall, that the NGU has become a full member of the International Association of Gendarmerie and Police Forces FIEP and an active participant in international security projects.
