Criminal groups will be tried in Nikolaev for extortion of funds and kidnapping of a person
Among the accused are six residents of Nikolaev with criminal past. The actions of intruders are qualified by investigators according to two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Recall that on December 15, 2020, the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Nikolaev area with law enforcement colleagues detained four defendants. The attackers just received part of the “debt” - 130 thousand hryvnias. In total, the attackers demanded 47 thousand US dollars from the victim. In order to force the man to give them money, the defendants first threatened him with physical violence, and later forcibly deprived him of his freedom.
During the investigation, it was established that the group included six residents of Nikolaev. It turned out that they were involved in another fact of extortion of funds, in particular — 17 thousand US dollars.
On the basis of the evidence received, investigators of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Nikolaev area reported the suspicion to the organizer and five accomplices. The actions of intruders are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 146 (Unlawful Imprisonment or Abduction of a Person) and Part 4 of Art. 189 (Extortion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Yesterday, August 27, in agreement with the Nikolaev regional prosecutor's office, the indictment against all participants of the organized criminal group was sent to the Ship District Court of Moscow. Nikolaev.
For a crime, offenders may face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
