Internal security of NPU detained police officer of Lviv region on bribery
By abusing his official position, the police official demanded an unfair advantage from his subordinates. Police officers were to receive money from offenders for failure to bring them to administrative responsibility and given to the police major.
According to the materials of the UDVB NPU, the investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in the city of Lviv, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, entered the information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
After receiving the bribe, with the physical support of the soldiers of the Lviv special unit of the patrol police TOR, the defendant was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
SBI investigators are preparing to hand him a suspect. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 5 to 10 years.
