Control over the circulation of weapons is one of the priority areas of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
This is one of the important “Safe Environment” projects implemented within the framework of the future Ukrainian doctrine, the discussion of which was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
One of the key components of this project is the Unified State Register of Weapons, which became operational on June 23. Thanks to the innovation, weapons can be registered without visiting the National Police, using the “Single Window of the Citizen” or contacting stores for the sale of weapons.
The innovation is in demand among citizens - for more than a month of work of the ERZ, we received more than 23 thousand applications and petitions, of which about 19 thousand were considered.
Other important aspects of the implementation of the project include the mandatory declaration of weapons received by citizens in law enforcement agencies or in the Armed Forces, found or obtained as a trophy on the battlefield. Such weapons are state property and must be returned within 90 days after martial law is lifted. Weapons will be registered with the police in a simplified procedure and free of charge.
The project also provides for the development of a network of gun hubs, where citizens will be trained to handle weapons and properly store them, and there will be services for the repair, maintenance and sale of weapons.
