The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov announced this on July 2. Recently, such teams began work in the Kiev, Kharkov and Lvov regions. Each rapid response team is assigned to the corresponding zone where it provides continuous patrolling along a certain route.
"From today in the Khmelnitsky region, a new functional staff structure of the police departments and divisions which provides for the creation of rapid response units has started operating. 33 rapid response teams will patrol the territory of the region", - noted Arsen Avakov.
Each team will consist of two police officers, it will have a car equipped with modern means of communication, including tablet PCs that will allow policemen to get on-line access to the electronic databases of the NPU and MIA. Teams will be held on duty around the clock in 4 shifts by 12 hours each.
The territory of each district of the region is divided into the law enforcement zones and each rapid response team is assigned to the corresponding zone in which it provides continuous patrolling along a certain route.
In addition, patrol policemen will serve as prevention officers: They will carry out preventive work with individuals on administrative records, provide assistance to local residents, communicate with regional communities, and monitor compliance with road traffic regulations.
"Such a wide range of powers will make the police service as close as possible to the local population and allow policemen to assist in emergency cases even before the arrival of operational and investigative officers, health care or emergency teams" - added the head of the MIA.
Let us recall that on July 2nd, the head of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze in the city of Khmelnitsky presented the work of the patrol police rapid response teams in the Khmelnitsky region.
